after years of suffering through the stale music scene in Memphis, TN, do

the group decided to do something about it. Guitarist Bobby Burns, led by

Hippie Death Cult have been described as “a journey throug
h shameless and triumphant artistic expression, exploration and discovery”
in the realms of psychedelia and riff-heavy rock n’ roll. The band hails
from Portland, Oregon and during their formative years they have transitio
ned from a 4 piece to a more consonant power trio consisting of guitarist
Eddie Brnabic, vocalist/bassist Laura Phillips and drummer Harry Silvers.
In 2019 they signed to Cursed Tongue Records for the release of “111” then
in 2021 signed to Heavy Psych Sounds Records to release “Circle of Days”
and the Doom Sessions Vol.5 split. Both full-length albums received intern
ational critical acclaim while debuting at #1 on the Doom Charts. The band
is also known for their high energy and passionate stage performances, ha
ving performed to audiences across America, Canada and Europe. They are cu
rrently in production for their 3rd studio album and are set to announce e

The Wallflowers will mark the 30th annivers ary of their landmark album Bringing Down the Horse with a nationwide U.S. tour kicking off April 17, 2026. The band will perform their classic albu m in its entirety, in sequence. The tour will also include a performance a t Stagecoach, the world’s largest country music festival.
Originally released on May 21, 1996, Bringing Down the Horse was a critical and comm ercial triumph. The album peaked at number four on the Billboard 200 and w as certified quadruple platinum, cementing the band’s place in ‘90s rock h istory.
The LP yielded four hit singles:
• “6th Avenue Heartache”
– Two Grammy nominations (1997)
• “One Headlight” – Reached #1 on the
Billboard singles chart, winning two Grammy Awards (1998). The songranked
#58 on Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Pop Songs”
• “The Difference” – Gr

• “Three Marlenas” – Released as the album’s fin
al single in October 1997
Influenced by a slew of first-generation A merican songwriters including The Band and Tom Petty & the Heartbreake rs, The Wallflowers will also pay tribute on the upcoming tour to the 50th anniversary of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers’ by playing Petty’s 1982 album Long After Dark in its entirety and in sequence as well.
Jako b Dylan, the band’s chief songwriter, remains a vital performer in America n rock music. As part of three decades of work, in 2002, he inducted Tom P etty into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. In 2018, he performed in the criti cally acclaimed documentary Echo in the Canyon, collaborating with artists ranging from Neil Young and Eric Clapton to Beck, Cat Power, Norah Jones, Regina Spektor.
Dylan also contributed songs to several soundtracks , including The Wallflowers' cover of "Heroes" for the 1998 Godzilla film soundtrack and "Arms of a Ghost" to television series, NCIS Los Angeles an d "Nothing But the Whole Wide World" to Friday Night Lights. In 2025 The W allflowers supported Eric Clapton on his US tour as they have done in the past for him as well as the supporting performances for the Who and The Ro lling Stones.

Punch Brothers, formed by mandolinist Chris Thile in 2006, is known for pushing the boundaries of acoustic music. In addition to Thile, the band currently comprises guitarist Chris Eldridge, bassist Paul Kowert, banjoist Noam Pikelny, and violinist Brittany Haas. P unch Brothers has garnered critical acclaim, including a Grammy for Best F olk Album for All Ashore (2018). The Washington Post applauded them for ta king “bluegrass to its next evolutionary stage, drawing equal inspiration from the brain and the heart.”
Over the past two decades, Punch Brot hers has become a pioneer in modern string music, with albums like Antifog matic (2010), Who’s Feeling Young Now (2012), and The Phosphorescent Blues (2015) showcasing the group’s genre-defying sound. ION
Brothers Jason Novak and Ethan Novak started Acumen Nation
while they were students at DePaul University in 1988. Between them they
had strong talent on vocals, guitar, bass, and drums, and a desire to expr
ess their unique musical talent through techno-like, guitar-driven rock. J
oining them was Gregory Lope (bass, drums, and backing vocals). Unable to
invent a name that reflected their style and didn't sound stupid, they cho
se the name "Acumen" from a thesaurus: it means understanding. About the s
ame time, a bluegrass band in Ohio also decided this was a good name. The
two bands tangled for over two years and spent months in a lawsuit before
the trio decided to change their name by adding the word "Nation." Acumen
Nation ultimately became a better choice.

This all led to Ambolley becoming a musical life force and explod ing on the scene in 1973 with a jazzy highlife sound called ‘SIMIGWA-DO’. His name has become synonymous with Simigwa music and dance.
Coming of age amidst the zenith of Ghana’s highlife era, Ambolley emerged as a pi votal figure in its evolution, lending his talents to esteemed bands such as Houghas Extraordinaires, Meridians Of Tema and Ghana Broadcasting Band. It was during this time that he caught the attention of his compatriot an d friend, Ebo Taylor, who recruited Ambolley to be a member of the Uhuru D ance Band. This all lead to a transformative journey to Nigeria in 1973, w here they shared the stage with the legendary Fela Kuti at his renowned Sh rine venue.

Little Big Town is a country band hailing f rom Homewood, Alabama. Formed in 1998, the quartet is comprised of members Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook and Phillip Sweet, al l of whom share the role of lead vocalist depending on the song. “For more than 40 years, we’ ve been one of the hardest working touring bands in pop music,” says guita rist/vocalist and UB40 co- founder Robin Campbell, who along with Jimmy Br own (drums), Earl Falconer (bass, vocals) and Norman Hassan (percussion, t rombone, vocals), have been the core of the band for its entire ever-evolv ing history. “We aim to have a party every show. As much as we’ve enjoyed our Zoom chats during lockdown, there’s no substitute for the relationship and synergy we have with our live audiences.”
Lead singer Matt Doyl e joined the band in 2021 when he was a member of the popular Birmingham r eggae band KIOKO – taking over for Duncan Campbell, UB40’s lead singer sin ce 2008 who retired after suffering a stroke. UB40 first got wind of the m agic Doyle brings to the stage as a singer and performer when KIOKO opened for them in 2018 at The Royal Albert Hall and supported UB40 on their sub sequent UK and European tours. Says Campbell, “Watching Matt standing ther e in the middle of the stage like a rabbit in headlights, full of shock an d awe that he’s playing with a band he loved growing up, was simply fantas tic but now his confidence has grown and he’s settled into the job with co nsummate ease.” For Doyle, naturally, it’s beyond a dream to be in those p roverbial headlights. “Everyone has been so warm and welcoming,” he says, “and I’ve received so many beautiful wishes from fans from around the worl d, saying I’m the perfect guy for the job and they can’t wait to see me pe rform. Not only is it amazing being with the band singing these incredible songs I grew up with, but it’s also a blast sitting in a room just listen ing to these guys with so much worldwide touring experience tell their sto ries. KIOKO were doing very well, and I’m grateful for my time with them w hich allowed me to find my voice and hone my craft. 2023 marked UB40's 45th year as a band, and they celebrated with further shows including an emotional sold out Royal Albert Hall and a summer return to the US. They’ve continued th eir 45th celebrations by recording a new album which is out on the 19th of April 2024, the album - UB45 - consists of seven brand new songs and seve n re-recordings of some classic UB40, a mixture of originals and Labour of Love songs. UB40’s 45 year celebrations will continue well into 2024. Fol lowing the release of UB45, the band will embark on a massive headline are na tour of the UK and Europe. Robin Campbell said: "We're so proud of this album and the new songs, but we also wanted to showcase Matt Doyle's voca ls on some of the classics because he does them so well. He's brought a ne w lease of life to our music, as has fellow Brummie "permanent guest" MC G illy G. When you play songs over so many years, the arrangements and vocal s evolve and change. And while her family history is deeply musical—her grandparents helmed the Philadelphia gospel group the Savettes, and her f ather, the musician and songwriter Antonio McLendon, has produced, compose d and arranged his own astounding original work—she didn’t delve into the jazz tradition until college at SUNY Purchase. During her studies there sh e won the 2019 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, which i ntroduced her to the larger jazz scene as a rising star to watch. She was heard, by audiences and critics alike, as a masterful interpreter of jazz standards and a rightful heiress of the sound, technique and charisma that defined her jazz heroines—including Vaughan, Betty Carter, Abbey Lincoln and Carmen McRae.
Joy released her self-titled debut on the Whirlwin d label in 2021, followed a year later by Linger Awhile, her breakout Verv e debut, of which Down Beat said, “With this beautiful recording, a silky- voiced star is born.” The album earned her a Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Al bum in addition to a headline-making win for Best New Artist. MAGICK POTION KICKSTAND PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS WARGASM + TBD Even now, as he reaches his eighth decade,
with a lifetime of accolades and a seminal body of music behind him, Robin
Trower is still chasing the biggest high he knows. It always starts the s
ame way, with a road-scuffed Fender Stratocaster and a revved-up Marshall
amplifier, those skilful fingers exploring the fretboard until a riff stic
ks and a new song ignites. And from the cultural flashpoint of Sixties Lon
don with Procol Harum, through 1974’s stadium-filling Bridge Of Sighs, rig
ht up to this year’s acclaimed Come And Find Me, it’s these addictive mome
nts of creation that have kept the guitarist vital, relevant and contempor
ary while his peers trade on past glories. “Some people say I’m driv
en, but I think it’s just the love of doing it,” reflects Trower of a mult
i-million-selling solo catalogue fast approaching thirty releases (and tha
t’s before you compute his collaborations with everyone from Jack Bruce to
Bryan Ferry). “I play guitar every day and just through messing around, i
deas happen. I can never feel the songs coming. But all of a sudden, you g
et a sliver of an idea and you think, ‘Oh, what’s this…?’” Right now
, Trower stands on the cusp of a whirlwind year that will see him put down
heavy miles across America and the UK (“I’m chomping at the bit, because
I had to cancel a US tour last year due to an operation”). At the grand vi
ntage of 80, however, this latest tour represents a mere stretch of the lo
ng road travelled. In his mind’s eye, Trower can still see his Southend-on
-Sea childhood in the ’50s, and feel the formative influence of guitar pla
yers from across the water. “Rock ‘n’ roll,” he says, “was my first love.
I’m still drawing on that first love for Come And Find Me.” When he
reaches right back, Trower’s earliest memory of that rebel movement is hea
ring Elvis sideman Scotty Moore (“He probably had the best sound of any ro
ck ‘n’ roll player at the time”). Next came a life-changing spin of a frie
nd’s imported single, which happened to be B.B. King’s 3 O’ Clock Blues (“
I just remember hearing the bends and vibrato and thinking, ‘How the hell
is he doing that?’”). Albert King’s Crosscut Saw, Jimi Hendrix’s Machine G
un, James Brown’s Live At The Apollo: all of them informed Trower’s musica
l personality as he made his first moves in 1959 with R&B hopefuls The
Paramounts. The big time beckoned in 1967 when Trower joined A Whit
er Shade Of Pale hitmakers Procol Harum, and many guitarists would have cl
ung to that enviable position for life. Trower acknowledges his good fortu
ne at being at the epicentre of that late-’60s youthquake (“I still think
it was the epitome of UK popular music and rock ‘n’ roll”). But Procol’s b
and dynamic could never contain all his ideas, and after five acclaimed al
bums, Trower rolled the dice on a solo career. “It was something I had to
do,” he told Classic Rock. “But it could have all gone awry.” Needle
ss to say, the history books have vindicated him. By 1974, Trower was a ma
jor star in the land whose music had inspired him, with Bridge Of Sighs’ h
eavy soul achieving Gold US sales and influencing future luminaries like S
teve Lukather, Metallica and countless more. “When I hear Bridge Of Sighs,
it’s like the earth under my feet is moving,” the highly rated Canadian b
luesman Philip Sayce told Guitarist in 2024. “It’s like a chest is heaving
.” Trower himself is still proud of that deathless record (“I recogn
ise the potency, especially with Jimmy Dewar’s fantastic vocals”). Yet the
veteran doesn’t dine out on Bridge Of Sighs – or his other hit albums of
the late-’70s like For Earth Below, Long Misty Days and In City Dreams – p
referring to march ever onward. Stick a pin in his catalogue over the past
decade alone and you’ll find projects from 2020’s United State Of Mind su
pergroup alongside Maxi Priest to the pairing with New York vocalist Sari
Schorr on 2023’s Joyful Sky. “She’s dynamite,” he says of the latter, “and
I’ll Be Moving On is a particular favourite of mine from that album.” Tracked last year during four separate sessions at Newbury’s Studio 91
(the setting for all Trower’s recent solo albums), the genesis of Come And
Find Me speaks volumes about the guitarist’s late-period momentum and hig
h standards. “Here’s the thing, I had enough material for two albums,” he
reflects. “I must have recorded 18 songs, all finished. I honed that down
to ten songs, but when I listened back to the album again a few months lat
er, it didn’t quite hang together. So I recorded some new songs, knocked o
thers off the previous running order. A lot of work went into Come And Fin
d Me – but it really does hang together well now.” Never one to let
interviewers too deep into his headspace, Trower once explained that each
new album is a snapshot of his situation and worldview at that moment. As
such, Come And Find Me is the best way to know the guitarist better in 202
5, and this new record is clearly not the work of a lofty rock star but an
engaged participant in the real world, with relatable loves, hates, hopes
and fears. “Musically, there’s a strong R&B flavour behind it, but it
’s obviously rock ‘n’ roll,” he explains. “Lyrically, I think the world ha
s become a lot darker in the last ten or twenty years. But there’s always
hope. There’s more good people in the world than there are bad.” Alw
ays a sociable musician and generous collaborator, Trower enlisted his tru
sted studio band for Come And Find Me. Drummer Chris Taggart once again dr
ives these powerful songs, with returning US bassist Glenn Letsch providin
g low end on two tracks (Trower played the remainder). Long-standing vocal
ist Richard Watts brilliantly interprets the guitarist’s highly personal l
yric sheets, while guest singer Jess Hayes is a head-turning addition for
Tangled Love’s tough, choppy soul. For the fairydust, Trower turned to Stu
dio 91’s owner Sam Winfield for the engineering and final mix – but the gu
itarist was intimately involved with every element. “For me, working on a
new song is a 24-hour job,” he explains. “It’s always on my mind. I’ll wak
e up in the middle of the night thinking about it.” Likewise, the Co
me And Find Me tracks will take up residence in your head. A Little Bit Of
Freedom starts in combative style with a blast of wah guitar and a bold f
irst line (‘I don’t need no-one to think for me’). “I had a strong sense t
hat red tape and rules are really constricting things in the world,” says
Trower. “Too much red tape, not enough freedom to think – it’s got to wher
e you feel straitjacketed.” Trower’s ambivalent stance to the times
is also writ large on cuts like the tremolo shudder of The Future Starts R
ight Here (“We’re becoming so tribal and taking sides, like, ‘Oh, you’re n
ot with me – I must hate you’”) and the stinging Without A Trace. “That so
ng is about all the lies in politics, mostly, and on social media. You kno
w, this absolute out-and-out lying, to try and influence people.” El
sewhere, the guitarist’s famed musicianship takes centre stage. Try the gl
owering angst and molten solo of Take This Hurt Away (“That song actually
started when I thought to myself one day, ‘I wonder what I would come up w
ith if they asked me to write a song for a James Bond film…’”). Or spin th
e swampy One Go Round, which lived up to the ‘seize-the-day’ lyric with it
s rapid birth in the studio. “That was almost an instant finished thing. I
t was like a hot knife through butter. All the lead work was improvised, a
nd it’s exactly where I live. The lyrical meaning is pretty obvious. You o
nly get one go round, so try and make the most of it.” As the album
unfolds, Trower reminds us of his ability to write a cliché-free love song
, via the hard-driving I Would Lose My Mind, the glistening smoulder of Ca
pture The Life Begun and the push/pull groove of I Fly Straight To You. “T
hat’s pretty basic stuff, isn’t it?” he smiles of the latter. “A guy is ma
d about a girl. It’s almost like a Beatles lyric, like, ‘I want to hold yo
ur hand…’” Come And Find Me is a grand statement that demands a big
finish, and Trower duly reserves a very special guitar solo for the closin
g Time Stood Still, his emotive string bends and shivers of vibrato matchi
ng a hypnotic vocal that finds two lovers stopping the clocks in each othe
r’s arms. “I had that complete piece before I started on the lyric,” he sa
ys. “I think it’s beautiful. It’s a lovely feeling to go out on.” Fi
ery, thoughtful and fuelled by real human emotion in a time of machine-gen
erated music, Come And Find Me is hardly the work of a rock icon resting o
n his laurels. On the contrary: keenly aware of passing time, Robin Trower
has made it his late-period mission to capture as many shards of magic as
possible. “In one way, I can’t believe it, that I’m still going at 80,” h
e says. “It’s kind of scary. You know that you’re way down the road, and y
ou could hit a brick wall at any time. But I still love doing this. For me

Formed in 1995 by Makoto Kawabata at
the same time as the Acid Mothers Temple Soul Collective, Acid Mothers Tem
ple released their debut album in 1997 on PSF Records (Japan), and it was
selected as one of the year's best albums in the The Wire magazine (UK). I
n 1998 the group played their first tours of the US and Europe. Since then
the group has released a huge number of albums on labels from many differ
ent countries. As of 2017, the group has released around 80 albums. Every
year since 1998, they have toured extensively in the US and Europe, and mo
re recently have started performing around Asia and in Japan too. The grou
p has performed in collaboration with many musicians including psychedelic
originators Gong and Guru Guru, Simeon (Silver Apples), Nik Turner (Hawkw
ind), and the Occitanian trad singer Rosina de Peira. Japanese collaborato
rs have included Afrirampo, Tatsuya Yoshida (Ruins), Maso Yamazaki (Masonn
a), Seiichi Yamamoto (Boredoms), Jun Kuriyama (The Ox), and many others.
Hailing from the rural outskirts of
Baltimore, consisting of founder, Dresden Boulden on Guitar and Vocals, T
riston Grove on Bass, and Jason Kendall on Drums. Magick Potion is a hard
hitting heavy rock trio channeling the raw energy and heavy grooves of the
late 60’s and early 70’s. Clearly hooked on the likes of underrated group
s such as Blue Cheer, The Amboy Dukes and Budgie, the band crafts a sound
that fuse’s heavy rock’s gritty riffs with contrasting moments boarding on
psychedelia. With roaring guitars, thunderous drums and hard driving bass
lines Magick Potion conjures a vibe that is both nostalgic yet contempora

Jason DeVore is celebrating 30 years of Authority Zero by
looking to the future while reflecting on the past, in the course of a po
werful six-song effort by the punk-rock group he and his friends started a
s high school kids in Mesa, Arizona. The EP, titled “30 Years: Speaking to
the Youth,” is “essentially about believing in yourself and fighting for
what you believe in,” DeVore says. “Whatever that may be.” The lyrics refl
ect on the world he sees around him through the filter on his own experien
ces. “It’s about the journey of this life and the awareness of it all,” he
says. “Each moment good or bad. If there’s something that you love and fe
el a strong conviction about, don’t be afraid to stand up and speak about

In the music of Charlie Parr, there is a si ncere conviction and earnest drive to create. The Minnesota-born guitarist , songwriter, and interpreter of traditional music has released 19 albums over two decades and has been known to perform up to 275 shows a year. Par r is a folk troubadour in the truest sense: taking to the road between sho ws, writing and rewriting songs as he plays, fueled by a belief that music is eternal and cannot be claimed or adequately explained. The bluesman po et pulls closely from the sights and sounds around him, his lyrical crafts manship built by his influences. The sounds from his working-class upbring ing—including Folkways legends such as Lead Belly and Woody Guthrie—imbue Parr’s music with stylistic echoes of blues and folk icons of decades past . Parr sees himself merely as a continuer of a folk tradition: “I feel lik e I stand on a lot of big shoulders,” he said in an interview. “I hope tha t I’ve brought a little bit of myself to the music.”
