Did you know anyone can add a show to the site? To help assist, we have put together this guide on how to submit your shows here.
Click + Add Event below the calendar.
Fill in the appropriate information in the fields on top
Title: Name of bands/artists performing or fest name
Where: Name of venue
If desired venue is not in the dropdown, type in the venue's name, click Add in the dropdown, then add the address in the address field. Also, for the record "Ask A Punk" counts as a valid address.
Online Locations: any urls to external even pages or ticket sites (not required)
Select the date(s) of the show on the calendar
If the it is a multidate even like a fest, select More Days above the calendar and then select the start and end dates.
Click the From field below the calendar and a clock will appear. Select the the start time of the event. End time is not required, but enter if known.
Tip: When entering times, it's best to click the hour, then am/pm, then minutes.
Enter additional information in the description field
This can include more info about the acrs, show times, cost, age restrictions, and any another info about the show.
For reference, this section will be used in the automated posts to Instagram.
In the Media field, a flyer can be added.
By default, it is set to upload as a local file. You can also click the Import from URL slider to paste a link to the flyer from a different site.
For the sake of space and Instagram/Bluesky file size limits, try not to upload too large of a file or too weird of dimensions.
Please only upload the flyer for the show. If no flyer exists, a default image will be automatically applied to the post.
Additional options can be accessed after uploading the flyer by click the Edit button above the flyer. This will pop open the Media Settings window where you can choose how the flyer is shown on the main page of the site and alternative text for the flyer.
The tags field is used for sorting and searching for shows on the site. Add the show's age restriction (All Ages, 18+, 21+), genre of artists, and other possible tags (i.e. Free Show, Benefit Show, Fest, DIY, etc.)
Click send to submit for approval.
Submissions will be approved by the admin and may be edited due to formatting, This process should occur within hours, but may take up to 72 hours. Submissions will appear on the site immediately after approval. Instagram, Bluesky, and Fediverse posts are automatically generated after approval. Depending on the time of day and show post queue, these posts may take up to 24 hours to appear.
